0 5 hours ago Full Job Description Master Agreement General Summary The Instructional Aide/Bus Attendant provides assistance to students on the bus and reports to the Director of Transportation.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities Assists driver to insure safe transportation of all students.
Exhibits sensitivity to individual student needs.
Controls student behavior.
Acquires knowledge of all terms on student data forms used to describe special conditions.
Maintains individual behavior logs as directed by the Director of Transportation.
Prepares and submits Bus Conduct Reports as necessary.
Informs parents and Discipline Coordinator of any unusual incidents or circumstances.
Maintains good rapport with parents/guardians.
Administers first aid as necessary.
Attends IEP/504 meetings as requested.
Exhibits familiarity with established emergency procedures.
Reports defective equipment to the Vehicle Service Manager on the appropriate form.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Minimum education requirements are a high school graduate or GED.
Understands state and federal standards for handling pre-school students.
Clear understanding of the role and responsibilities of the instructional aide/bus attendant.
Caring, patient attitude towards students.
Willingness to develop a basic understanding of the operation of adaptive equipment.
Physical ability and skill necessary to restrain or assist with movement of students.
Ability to react calmly in emergency situations.
Ability to follow directions.
Ability to resolve conflict Dependable, reliable, and protective of sensitive/confidential information.
Complete required number of hours of instruction.
Meet state physical examination requirements.
Current certification in First Aid and CPR and/or willingness on the part of the individual to become certified.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
