Key Competencies and Skills Demonstrated proficiency with basic computer skills.
Essential Duties Following demonstrated competency, and under the indirect supervision of the Medical Director, performs the following Neurodiagnostic testing per department policy/procedure:

Continuous EEG Recordingc.
Ambulatory EEG Recording Following directly supervised orientation with demonstrated competency assessment, performs the following Neurodiagnostic monitoring per department policy/procedure and under direct supervision of the surgeon:
a.
Intraoperative EEG Monitoring Assures the patient record has complete EEG study documentation.
Routes data appropriately to assure timely physician interpretation.
Cleans electrodes, equipment, and lab per department policy/procedure.
Restocks supplies to maintain an orderly work environment.
Assists Clinical Engineering with accessing equipment for regular preventive maintenance.
Reports any equipment problems to Clinical Engineering for follow up and repair.
Acknowledges that safety is a self-directed responsibility.
Knows the physical requirements of the job and works within those guidelines.
Follows Standard (Universal) Precautions.
Performs all job duties safely at all times.
Utilizes effective customer service/interpersonal skills at all times.
Embraces the concept of Relationship Based Care (RBC) in care of self and maintaining positive relationships with patients, visitors, and coworkers.

Understands the need and application of the International 10-20 System.
Continues to learn and apply basic and intermediate EEG waveform recognition, relevant medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, infection control, contraindications for activation procedures, instrumentation and preparation for use, patient assessment as related to care such as electrode fixation product allergies, movement restrictions and cognitive function.
Drug and physiological status effects on activity monitored must be known and recognized.
Participates in ongoing educational activities related to diagnostic and clinical knowledge and professional issues.
Complies with mandatory continuing education requirements to maintain credentialing and meet job requirements.
Participates in the education of students and other health care professionals.
Work Environment and Physical RequirementsReports ToAccountable to the Manager.
Reports directly to the Neurodiagnostics/EEG Clinical Coordinator.
Works collaboratively and effectively with the Neurodiagnostic/EEG staff, Medical Director, Neurologists and all members of the Patient Care Team.
