Summary:
Under the supervision of the Director of Human Resources, performs a variety of administrative tasks and accounting functions in support of the departmental and organizational values.
Possesses well-developed organizational and communication skills to provide assistance to all departments in the organization.
Essential Job Functions:

- Provides general clerical and organizational support to the directors and each of the departmental managers.
-Selects payables for payment, prepares checks, maintains files and prepares reports as required.
-Counts farebox revenue and other money as required.
- Responsible for gathering and preparing materials presented for the Board meetings, assuring compliance with all applicable laws relating to official actions of BATA including minutes, public notices, resolutions, proclamations, etc.
Administers compliance of Open Meetings Act for the BATA Board and records minutes at board meetings.
-Prepares minutes for BATA committees including Comms meetings, System Improvement Meetings (SIT) meetings, Safety Team meetings, and others.
-Maintains office supply inventory and equipment as necessary.
Manages related vendors and places order as needed and manages related budget line item.
- Assist with employee celebrations/ recognitions, as needed - Prepares memoranda, word processing, etc.
as needed.
- Sorts and distribute mail daily.
Makes occasional trips to the post office.
(Transportation required).
-May be required to make meeting and travel arrangements.
-Handles confidential information.
- Works independently and within a team on special and ongoing projects.
- Reconciles and records cash deposits, invoices customers, and applies payments to account.
- Responsible for uniform ordering and management.
- Attends meetings and takes minutes as requested.
-Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Minimum
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associate's Degree or the equivalent in accounting, business administration, or related field preferred.
Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.

Must be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
Must present professional appearance in all situations.
Considerable knowledge of computer software and related technology, specifically Microsoft Office is required.
QuickBooks experience is preferred.
General knowledge of the principles, methods and techniques of bookkeeping, accounting, internal controls and financial reporting.
Ability to maintain accurate records, self-audit and correct errors, create reports and perform mathematical computations with accuracy.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and carry them out independently.
Ability to effectively communicate and present information orally and in writing.
Tactfully and courteously interact with co-workers and customers, provide excellent customer service.
Must maintain good working relationships with co-workers and supervisors.
Ability to solve problems, work effectively under stress within deadlines, and handle changes in work priorities calmly and positively.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
