We operate one of the largest yacht charter fleets on the Great Lakes out of Traverse City, Michigan, a destination town for outdoor adventure, food, wine and art! We are an accredited and award-winning sailing school by the American Sailing Association, and we are a premier dealer of Jeanneau sailing yachts.
We are a small and busy company of about 25 employees including year-round and seasonal employees.
Our customers come from around the world to sail, learn about, and purchase sailing yachts.
Our office and marina are located at the beautiful CenterPointe building in Traverse City.
Your office window will overlook the marina and waterfront and you will frequently work out on the docks and on the yachts.

The Operations Manager Role Great Lakes Sailing Co.
is looking for an energetic, motivated and customer service-oriented individual to join the team.
This salaried position is key to the business operating smoothly and to providing exceptional experiences to our guests and customers.
This individual oversees and coordinates operational activities for our sailing school and yacht charters, as well as our 8-person seasonal cleaning crew.
The role requires an individual that can work 5
days/week for 40 - 50 hours/week in the prime season, including many Saturdays when our guests arrive for sailing charters.
Off-season hours are more flexible and are typically 30-40 hours/week.
The salary range of this position is 50-60K depending on relevant experience, plus a yearly discretionary bonus.

This individual must be able to:
Prioritize and manage daily work and multiple projects in a timely and effective manner Build and maintain relationships with all levels of management, team members, and customers Trouble shoot, collaborate to find solutions, and implement operating processes and procedures Demonstrate a proactive style that ensures the completion of tasks and projects, despite obstacles Enjoy a fast-paced workday with many moving variables Compose emails and be highly competent at writing Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the job include, but are not limited to:
Takes customer reservations via email and phone call; Answers customer questions; educates customers on the classes, boats and services Implements, operates and troubleshoots the reservations software; acts as in-house expert on software applications Accepts walk-in reservations and customers Prepares paperwork for charter sailing and sailing school Updates American Sailing Association (ASA) with new captains; checks/maintains licenses of captains Ensures instructors are scheduled for sailing school courses and up to date with their licenses Schedules cleaning and non-mechanical maintenance with cleaning staff Manages the schedules of work for cleaning staff; ensure proper shift coverage for boat departures/arrivals Welcomes and cultivates the arrival experience for guests in line with GLSC hospitality standards Manages boat slip assignments for GLSC owned and managed boats Conducts final inspection of boats (non-mechanical) before customer boarding Plans and coordinates events; attends boat shows throughout the region when needed Performs basic data entry and administrative tasks as needed Organizes the front office and ensures a clean and tidy presentation Handles confidential information, including customer information, with a high degree of integrity Manages and orders inventory of office and cleaning supplies; ensures best availability, sources, and pricing Acts as back-up for cleaning crew; cleans boats when necessary to fill in or prepare for arriving customers Identifies areas for potential business process improvement and leads change when appropriate Implements improvements; continuously improves the quality of all support activities Works closely with the Service Manager in scheduling maintenance and charters Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high work activity and sets a positive example for team members Education and/or Experience Associate degree preferred, but not required with the right experience and knowledge related to this position Proficient in MS Office applications with an emphasis on Excel and Word, comfortable learning new software applications and technology Proven ability to manage and lead with enthusiasm and build consensus across functions in a work place Experience in hospitality, working with customers and/or the public preferred Must be able to swim (safety reasons) Physical Demands Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions Regularly required to use hands, fingers and arms and legs Occasional lifting to 50 pounds; regularly 25 pounds Must be able to stoop, crouch and use balance to board and de-board boats that do not have walk ways Must be able to walk on uneven surfaces and maintain balance Must be able to work on boats on deck and below deck Must be able to stand and sit for long periods when working in the office Must be able to see, hear, and speak, read and write English Must be able to work in the office and outdoors in all spring, summer and fall weather conditions Contact To apply for this UNIQUE opportunity please send a cover letter and resume to email protected or apply through Indeed by February 9th, 2024.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
